February 7–9, 2026, the International Microwave Filter Workshop (IMFW 2026) was successfully held in Hong Kong, China. NEWSONIC, an innovation-driven leader in the RF front-end industry, was invited to participate in the exhibition. Dr. Duan Feng, Chief Technology Officer of NEWSONIC, was also invited to attend and deliver a technical presentation.
Organized by the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S), IMFW serves as a key global platform connecting industrial practice with academic research in the field of microwave filters. This year marked the first time the conference was held in Asia, with a focus on the critical challenges facing RF devices as mobile communications evolve toward 5G-Advanced and future 6G, including higher operating frequencies, wider bandwidth requirements, and increasing levels of system integration.
At the Acoustic Wave Resonator (AWR) Industry Forum, Dr. Feng delivered a presentation titled *“RF Filters for 5G/6G Applications Based on Double-Sided Process Technology.” In his talk, he introduced NEWSONIC’s proprietary D-BAW® double-sided process technology. By systematically reconstructing the underlying manufacturing architecture of BAW filters, the technology effectively addresses performance degradation issues associated with high-frequency and wide-bandwidth applications, significantly improving device quality factor (Q) and thermal stability.
Dr. Feng also shared NEWSONIC’s innovative packaging solutions based on organic bonding and glass substrates, enabling both cost optimization and enhanced performance. Leveraging these technologies, NEWSONIC demonstrated RF front-end solutions that combine high performance with advanced integration, meeting the demands of 5G-Advanced and future 6G application scenarios.
